The Dingwall D-Roc 5 gives its low B plenty of room in Celestial Blue
A long low B and straightforward passive controls make for an attractive combination for bassists who prefer to get their sound primarily from their hands and amplifier. This Dingwall D-Roc 5-string Ducati Matte Celestial Blue brings that together in a bold design with a matte blue finish. The five-string multiscale bass combines a khaya body with a five-piece maple neck and a pau ferro fretboard. It is an instrument for players who like to go deep, but also want a bass line to retain its definition.
The three FD-3N pickups offer various starting points for your tone. With the four-position Quad-Tone pickup selector, you can switch between pickup combinations, while the passive tone control helps to round off the sharpness to your taste. This allows you to find the right spot for a solid riff or a more restrained backing part. The scale length runs from 34 to 37 inches, with the low B getting the longest string length. That is the premise behind the characteristic fanned-fret construction: different scale lengths within a single instrument, tailored to the range of the strings.
The neck has the D-Roc profile and a pau ferro fretboard with a 9.45-inch radius. On it, you will find 20 banjo-sized frets and pearloid dot inlays. Open-gear tuners and the Dingwall Minimalist one-piece bridge complete the hardware. With volume, pickup selector, and a passive tone knob, the controls remain directly accessible, without an elaborate active equalizer. As a result, the emphasis is on the pickup choice, your touch, and your amplifier settings. This specimen weighs 4.15 kg and comes with a soft case.
Are you looking for a five-string bass that invites you to truly make that low B part of your playing? Discover how this Celestial Blue D-Roc responds to your favorite bass lines.
