Using a tube amplifier without always having to sound a speaker cabinet: the Laney Lionheart L5 Studio makes that possible. This 5-watt amplifier head, designed and built in Great Britain, combines a single-ended Class A tube design with Laney's T-USB technology for a direct connection to your recording software. This makes it an interesting partner for guitarists who play at home and want to capture their ideas. The internal dummy load allows for use without a connected speaker cabinet, so you can also record when a traditional amplifier setup would make too much noise. This allows you to keep a genuine tube amplifier as the foundation of your sound.

The Lionheart character is all about clear, open, and dynamic guitar tones. The L5 Studio responds to your attack, making the way you play a part of the sound. This invites you to experiment with softer chord parts, pronounced accents, and melodies where the nuances of your fingers are important. The built-in reverb gives you the option to add space without having to connect a separate reverb pedal directly. This allows you to keep a part dry and direct, or add more atmosphere while working on a recording.

The amplifier uses hand-selected ECC83 and EL84 tubes. Via T-USB, you send both a dry and a processed signal to your DAW, so recording can become part of your regular practice routine. The switchable effects loop provides room to incorporate external effects into your setup. The internal dummy load is available for quiet use. The head weighs 8.7 kg and measures 190 by 420 by 185 millimeters in height, width, and depth. An FS2-MINI footswitch and a slipcover with an embroidered Lionheart logo are included.
