Viking Red on a '64 ES-335: the most striking color on the most iconic semi-hollow model
The Gibson 1964 ES-335 Reissue Murphy Lab Light Aged in Viking Red is for the guitarist who doesn't want to go unnoticed. The Viking Red finish is a bold, distinctive color that enhances the classic lines of the ES-335, while the Murphy Lab Light Aged treatment ensures the authenticity of a played-in vintage instrument. The subtle checking in the nitrocellulose lacquer and the lightly aged nickel hardware make this a guitar that doesn't look new, but played.
The tone of a '64 ES-335 is fresh, open, and full of complex harmonics. The two unpotted Custombucker Alnico 3 humbuckers, tuned to PAF specifications, deliver a dynamic sound with rich midrange and a transparency rarely found in modern guitars. The 3-ply maple/poplar/maple body with center block gives the guitar that characteristic blend of resonance and sustain. The Authentic '64 Medium C-Shape neck profile fits comfortably in the hand.
Specs: mahogany neck, Indian Rosewood fretboard with small block cellulose nitrate inlays, 22 frets, ABR-1 Tune-O-Matic bridge, Kluson Single Line Double Ring tuners, lightly aged nickel hardware and paper-in-oil capacitors. Delivered in a Black/Yellow Custom Shop hardshell case.
Viking Red, Murphy Lab, '64 ES-335. A combination you won't find anywhere else.
