The Rickenbacker 1993PLUS: The Legendary 12-String That Gave Pete Townshend His Sound
The Rickenbacker 1993PLUS is no ordinary 12-string guitar. This is the model that Pete Townshend personally requested to be reintroduced, based on the original 1993 that was exclusively available through British distributor Rose Morris in the 1960s. The 1993PLUS is that classic, refined and enhanced for the modern player who demands no compromises.
The sound of the 1993PLUS is unmistakably Rickenbacker: that enchanting, melodic chorus tone that makes 12-string guitars so special. Three vintage reissue pickups ensure a full, rich and warm sound with the characteristic Ricky sparkle. The stereo output opens the door to a world of spacious soundscapes, while the X-bracing in the body enhances the resonance and depth of every note.
The 1993PLUS is built with a slightly wider neck than the original, an extra 3.1 mm for more playing comfort, with a rosewood fingerboard and a stable two-piece neck design with a rounded heel construction. The trapeze tailpiece, vintage knobs, and F-hole are true to the original. Double body binding and mother-of-pearl inlays give this instrument the sophisticated look it deserves. Finished in the timeless Jet Glo lacquer.
The Rickenbacker 1993PLUS is an instrument for the enthusiast who knows what they're looking for and wants precisely that.
