This bass guitar, also called the J-Bass, was launched in 1960 as Fender's new "deluxe" bass model. The Jazz Bass was characterized by its slim offset body, a particularly narrow and comfortable neck and so-called dual concentric "stacked" control pots with which a wide range of usable and particularly beautiful bass sounds could be produced. The Jazz Bass became an immediate success, and this beautiful instrument has become an indispensable part of the modern music world.
