Awesome Gibson SG with batwing pickguard in the classic Heritage Cherry finish.
The Gibson SG Standard has a funny history. Initially, from 1961 onwards, this guitar was known as the Gibson Les Paul... Huh? Indeed, this model was intended as the successor to the heavy Gibson Les Paul. With only a thin mahogany body, it was the answer to complaints about the Les Paul's weight. But there was a small problem. Mr. Les Paul himself found the guitar hideous and not representative of his vision of the ultimate guitar. Consequently, he decided to no longer lend his name to the model. So a new name was needed, and so it was! The Gibson SG became one of the most legendary guitars in the history of rock music. Think of big names like Angus Young, Eric Clapton, George Harrison, Duane Allman, and more recently, Derek Trucks. A Gibson SG has a very distinctive sound. It bites, pierces the music, and in the right hands, the guitar can even sound very subtle. The Gibson SG is iconic in every way. The guitar features a classic Heritage Cherry finish and a Slim Taper neck that feels great. The pickups are 490R & T, which convincingly reproduce the PAF sound. The guitar comes with a beautiful hardshell case.
