PRS SE Silver Sky Derby Red

The stunning Silver Sky SE now in a fresh Derby Red finish!

Since the Silver Sky's release in 2018, we at Dijkmans have seen countless guitarists fall head over heels for its charm. Countless enthusiasts, both vintage and modern, have embraced the Silver Sky. We're therefore incredibly pleased that PRS is also offering the Silver Sky in their more affordable SE line starting in 2022! This makes the instrument accessible to even more guitarists, and we can only applaud that.

The SE Silver Sky may be considerably more affordable than its older, American version, but no real concessions have been made. For starters, both versions share the same extremely comfortable body shape, featuring a bellycut. This is a guitar you won't want to put down! Tonally, they're also quite similar; the SE version is made of poplar, which is very similar to the alder of the American version. You hear the same detail and depth you'd expect, which is further enhanced by the updated 635JM "S" pickups. These pickups are beautifully balanced, making even the well-known "in-between" pickups sound incredible (although that won't surprise true Mayer aficionados...). The characteristic neck profile is also virtually the same, although the SE, with its 8.5" radius, has a slightly flatter—and therefore more accessible—fingerboard. Incidentally, that fingerboard is made of real rosewood! Naturally, the SE Silver Sky comes with an SE Gig Bag, so you can safely take it to your next gig!
