The 60s Slim Taper neck and Burstbucker 61 pickups make this Les Paul an instrument for players who know what they want
The Gibson Les Paul Standard 60s Figured Top in Honey Amber is a guitar that needs no introduction, but one that will make you look at what a Les Paul can be in a different way. Where the 50s version relies on a fuller neck profile and a warmer character, the 60s opts for the thin, fast 60s Slim Taper C-neck that rewrote blues and rock in the hands of Clapton, Page, and Bloomfield. Combined with a figured maple top in a deep, translucent Honey Amber — a finish that optimally brings out the flame in the wood.
The sound is determined by two Burstbucker 61 humbuckers, Gibson's accurate reproduction of the original PAF pickups from the late 50s and early 60s. They are deliberately wound slightly asymmetrically, just like the originals, resulting in an open, dynamic character with a slight sharpness in the high mids that cuts without biting. Through the classic 2x volume, 2x tone, and 3-way toggle configuration, you have complete control over your tone, and the interaction between the two pickups in the middle position delivers one of the most versatile sounds an electric guitar can produce.
The body is constructed from mahogany with a figured maple top, connected via a set neck to a mahogany neck with a rosewood fretboard, trapezoid inlays, and 22 medium jumbo frets on a 24.75" scale length with a 12" radius. The ABR-1 Tune-O-Matic bridge and Grover Rotomatic tuners ensure stable tuning and direct string transfer. Supplied with a hardcase.
A Les Paul Standard 60s is not a compromise — it is a choice for players who want to feel the history of the electric guitar in their hands.
