The Hummingbird with Adirondack Red Spruce top: more headroom, more dynamics, and a Honey Burst finish that accentuates the warmth of the wood
The Gibson Hummingbird is one of the most versatile acoustic guitars the brand makes, and the Red Spruce version takes that versatility to the next level. Adirondack Red Spruce is stiffer and lighter than Sitka, resulting in greater headroom and dynamic range. From the lightest finger touch to the most powerful strum, the Hummingbird remains clear and controlled, without ever being constrained. The Honey Burst finish accentuates the instrument's warm undertones and gives it a stylish, inviting look.
The solid mahogany back and sides add warmth and depth to the Adirondack top's tone, giving the Hummingbird its characteristic balance: bright but not harsh, warm but not muddy. The LR Baggs VTC pickup faithfully captures the acoustic voice for amplified use, without compromising the instrument's character. The distinctive Hummingbird pickguard with floral motif and the MOP Split Parallelogram inlays give this model its unmistakable identity.
The mahogany neck has a Rounded profile with a rosewood fretboard, 20 frets, and a 12-inch radius over a 24.75-inch scale length. Grover Rotomatic tuners and the rosewood Reverse Belly bridge complete an instrument that is at home in any context. Delivered with a Gibson hardshell case.
