Beautiful Epiphone 1957 SJ-200 Reissue in Vintage Sunburst!
The Gibson SJ-200 was born in 1937 and quickly became the King of the Flat-Tops —and rightly so. Its imposing size, rich tone, and enormous projection made it a fixture on stage. From movie cowboys to folk heroes, country icons, and rock legends, the SJ-200 has been a favorite for decades, and early models are now highly sought-after collectors' items.
Epiphone, in close collaboration with Gibson Custom , is proud to present the 1957 SJ-200 Reissue : a tribute to the majestic '57 Super Jumbo, but made much more accessible to today's guitarist.
This reissue is packed with vintage vibes and features all-solid body construction. Think a thermally aged Sitka spruce top with scalloped X-bracing, figured maple back and sides, and a genuine two-piece flame maple neck with a walnut stringer and a comfortable C-profile. The bound Indian rosewood fingerboard features stylish mother-of-pearl Crown inlays – just as you'd expect from a classic SJ-200. Furthermore, the set dovetail neck joint provides that full, immersive resonance.
Visually, this is also a guitar you won't easily forget. The SJ-200 pickguard with vintage graphics, the rosewood Moustache™ bridge with pearl inlays, the bone nut and saddle, and the Gibson-style open-book headstock with elegant inlays complete the picture. The Antique Natural version even features a classic stinger on the back of the headstock. And of course, the Inspired by Gibson Custom Double Diamond detail is also included.
For the modern player, the 1957 SJ-200 Reissue comes standard with the LR Baggs Element Bronze VTC pickup, complete with soundhole volume and tone controls. Ready for both stage and studio, straight from the deluxe Red Line hardshell case with Inspired by Gibson Custom graphics.
